Import fees and taxes when importing an engagement ring from James Allen to Canada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Canada and the USA are part of the USMCA agreement<\/a> (this replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement), which means that you don\u2019t have to pay import duty on goods that are manufactured in the USA when transferred between the members of the agreements (US, Mexico and Canada).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Allen\u2019s operations and fulfilment center is located in New York, which means that there\u2019s no import duty to be paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, you will just need to pay your province\u2019s regular sales tax \u2013 just like if you were buying from a local Canadian jeweller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales Tax You Will Have To Pay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unlike some other engagement ring retailers like Blue Nile<\/a>, James Allen doesn\u2019t collect international taxes and duties. However, they do provide an accurate tax and duty estimate during the checkout process so you can see exactly how much your ring will cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Allen have a handy \u2018Tax and Duty Calculator<\/a>\u2019 that will help you understand what you\u2019ll need to pay for tax in your province without having to go through the whole checkout process. The amount of tax will vary depending on where you live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tax will be collected by FedEx once your package arrives in Canada and before your ring is released. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s worth reiterating that this is exactly the same amount of tax you\u2019d be charged should you buy a ring from Canada, but you obviously are taking advantage of James Allen\u2019s lower prices compared to Canadian retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When your ring arrives in Canada, you\u2019ll be contacted by Fedex and informed of the tax that is due before they can release the ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
